I recently became a certified professional internet marketer, I had to find my niche among all the SEO marketing strategies, and mine was the copywriting or content writing within the SEO industry.
It fit perfectly into what I love to do. I love to write but I need a subject to write about on a consistent basis. For me it is comparable to an artist that needs a subject in order to sketch. I enjoy writing content; however, I could never come up with a subject I wanted to write. That is how I found my niche inside of all the facets of search engine optimization marketing strategies. I blog and create relevant content for the search engines to find.
Copywriting is a form of advertising and marketing in which a person is able to review and elaborate on a product. Providing resources and product information is the copywriter’s content strategy. A copywriter will use keywords within the posts so search engines will push to show the blog post in the top 30 results of any major search engine. Copywriting takes research, and the content written must be to inform rather than oversell a product.
People do like to read simple to the point content, and do not like the overselling of a product. Should content cover the benefits of a product? Yes, absolutely. Should “said” product be praised over and over again as “the most amazing product out there?” No. When writing content give useful information and allow the reader to make the decision of “amazing” product on their own.
Creating a blog on your company’s website and posting to it on a regular basis is a form of content marketing. If you feel that you do not have the time nor inclination to write on a blog, then hire a copywriter. Copywriters take great care to provide a product with fresh and appropriate advertising within the content.
Content writers are trained to write content that will optimize a website’s content and lead that website into organic or “non-paid” search engine results. Although, a company would be paying for a copywriter salary, that might be more cost effective than a pay-per-click ad campaign that can cost a company almost a 6-figure marketing budget. Pay-Per-Click advertising doesn’t have the ability to be shared like content that can be spread through social media channels.
